The material of PP luggage is polypropylene (PP for short), which is a thermoplastic resin made by polymerization of propylene. Polypropylene has the following characteristics:
Physical properties: Polypropylene has a low density and is the lightest of general-purpose plastics. It has good mechanical properties, including high rigidity, hardness and bending fatigue resistance. Its molecular weight is between 80,000 and 150,000, and its crystallinity is as high as 95% or more.
Chemical stability: In addition to being corroded by concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid, polypropylene is relatively stable to various other chemical reagents. It also has good heat resistance, and the products can be sterilized at temperatures above 100°C. Under the condition of no external force, it will not deform at 150°C.
Electrical insulation: Polypropylene has good electrical insulation, almost no water absorption, and does not react with most chemicals.
Application areas: Polypropylene is widely used in packaging, fiber, injection molding, film and other fields. In the packaging field, it is often used to manufacture various food packaging, daily necessities packaging, etc.; in the fiber field, it is used to manufacture carpets, ropes, non-woven fabrics, etc.; in the injection molding field, it is used to produce automotive parts, home appliance casings, etc.
